At present, many are indicating the use of blackstrap molasses for hair rejuvenation. The claim is that this health food can be used to do the following:
- renew hair growth,
- encourage melanin production (to deal with graying strands), and
- lead to shinier hair.
Is any of it true? A tricky question. At present, a final word is not yet obtainable. This is since more studies have to be carried out for true scientific validation. Yet even before that can be achieved, it is already possible to glean some enlightenment from existing evidence.
Thus far, what evidence does appear is more in support of the claims than otherwise. A lot of anecdotal evidence exists for blackstrap molasses’s hair benefits, for example. Added to this is what we already know about blackstrap molasses themselves.
Knowledge of the nutrients and minerals in this superfood—nutrients and minerals already scientifically proven to be beneficial to scalp and hair health—seems to indicate reason behind the alleged benefits.
